Our commitment is to assist each student to achieve their potential within a caring and stimulating whole school community. Parramatta North Public School seeks to ensure that all students, and their parents, have a clear understanding of their child's development and progress in the basic skills areas.
The school also provides planned programs of cultural enrichment and personal development, which enhance the student's self-esteem and horizons. Through commitment and professionalism, the staff creates an attractive learning environment which is safe, tolerant and supportive and a curriculum which is relevant, comprehensive and innovative.
General information
Before school
Teachers are rostered on duty from 8.30am. Before that time there is no formal supervision. Students should not arrive at school before that time. If it is absolutely necessary for students to be dropped at school before 8.30am they should go directly to the office. A letter to the Principal is required in this instance.
After school
Please ensure that students are collected promptly at the end of the school day. If you will be late arriving to collect your child, please telephone the school and let us know. It can be quite worrying, especially for younger students (and their teachers), if you are not there when they expect you. There are no formal provisions for supervision of students after 3.00pm by school staff. Please inform the school of any variations in usual arrangements for students being collected at the end of the day. This is particularly important for students who attend after-school care and are usually collected by the care centre.
Other people collecting students from school
If you arrange for your child to be collected from school by someone other than immediate family members, please telephone the school office or send a note. This is especially important on days when the school routine is varied, such as athletics carnivals or excursions.
Secure internet access and email
All students are provided with an Internet and Email account to enable learning opportunities in a protected and secure environment. Students must abide by the school's policy when using the DET Internet and Email services.
Parents need to inform the school in writing if you do not want your child to have access to the DET Internet and Email facility.
